THE OAK TREE | 2023

Commissioned illustration taken from a set of four that were presented to the winners The Lowry’s Creative Writing Challenge. Hawa’s story (aged 9) evoked a tranquil scene, where a young girl named Lily discovers a magical oak tree that grants wishes. Here, we see Lily reading from the tree’s spell book, as she contemplates what to wish for. Each illustration was framed and presented at The Lowry’s Creative Writing evening on May 18th 2023.
